Luke Hendrik Moffett has over 35 years of railroad systems, track, facilities, and passenger stations engineering experience in the design, construction, and project management of both Passenger systems and Class 1 heavy freight.
Luke Hendrik Moffett was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on March 17th 1958 to Christian parents. His mother is from Malta, while his father is a Scottish first generation American from Hawaii.
Luke was 3 years old, when he lost his father to parkinson's. He was taken to Valletta, Malta by his mother to learn their cultural values. He grew up with his mother in Malta.
His mother remarried and had a son from her second marriage. Luke lost his mom from colon cancer. Luke is physically fit, he had a fairly normal and happy childhood.
He studied Railway Engineering at the University of Malta in 1975 (L-Università ta' Malta) and did his graduates studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa studying industrial engineering in 1982.

As a senior rail engineer and line manager member, Luke's role forms a key position providing civil engineering skills and technical knowledge of railway design and operations input into single- and multidisciplinary projects.
He is responsible for and working as part of a large team comprising designers, engineers and technicians. Luke leads a number of engineers and more technical staff with input to railway projects of various sizes. He is also responsible for liaising regularly with staff managers and other technical leads, CREs, and team leaders.
